Homelander is the iconic comic character we can’t stop raving about, and for good reason. With the wrap of season 2, I can’t wait to show my appreciation with every form of merchandise imaginable. I want a Homelander hat on in my Zoom meetings, his face on a mug staring back at me, a badass poster in my living room beside that sweet 70” flat screen. I don’t know about you, but my shelf of Pop vinyl won’t be complete until Homelander is levitating above it.

You might think I’m crazy, but look, he deserves the fandom. 

He’s the best superhero, err supervillain, we’ve seen on the screen for a long time coming. And did I mention, he’s got an absolutely iconic outfit? He’s so stylish, sinister, and sleek. Always ready to crack a smile when the cameras are rolling. Not to mention, the most ferocious ear clap I’ve ever seen. (Sorry, Blindspot.)

With his unmatched super powers and unhinged disposition, the Homelander stands out as the dude no one wants to reckon with. Antony Starr makes Homelander come to life and deserves an Emmy for his facial expressions alone. Although I must admit, the Zack Morris memes are really funny. 

Who is this Homelander character really? Homelander is a parody of what superman would be like if he wasn’t grounded, humble or raised by a loving family. His big personality is at the center of The Boys series by Amazon, based on the comic book. I think the show’s better in my opinion – though some diehards love both, and the television series has taken the world by storm. We’ve got season 1 and season 2 in the books, with season 3 confirmed. Bring on the chaos! 

At the end of the day, this is not a guy who makes a good impression on the homeland, but hey, that’s what makes him a compelling character. It’s fiction after all. It’s supposed to be over the top and fantastical. But it’s also a social commentary filled with comedic moments. I love that everyone gets targeted with sarcasm and becomes the butt of jokes eventually. Fresca anyone?

If you’re like me, you couldn’t wait for each season to drop. It’s impossible to guess what this kooky cast of characters will get up to next. Especially our boy, Homelander, with all his mischievous exploits and the payback that’s coming to him. Billy Butcher is one scary rival, even without Compound V. 

When Homelander’s not flying around or lasering the crap out of people, he can be pretty amusing. He’s the leader of The Seven, a motley crew with incredible and unique super powers to terrify us with. While his title sounds impressive, it’s not a job anyone would envy. He has to juggle fighting dissenting members of his own team, the boys who are out for his head, Vought Industries pulling internal strings for prophet, and you know, occasionally, bad guys. 

The Boys TV show is a satire that makes dark humor shine through Homelander’s red, piercing eyes. His ignorance, unchained ego, and the crazy situations he encounters, culminate in bizarre reactions and unimaginable scenarios. With all the power in the world, he still can’t be happy and it’s a great lens to laugh at the insane world through. 

Of course we want Homelander merchandise to commemorate all this awesomeness as true fans! And your wish is coming to fruition, my friend. 

I’m talking Homelander memorabilia. Homelander products to scatter our houses and offices with. Homelander art plastering the walls. Homelander apparel to wear grocery shopping! I’m a glutton for collecting everything related to my favorite characters. It may be a form of self-induced punishment, but you can probably tell from my enthusiasm that it sure is satisfying.
